Standard cleaning frequency assumes a fairly steady level of household grime. Pollen season breaks that assumption for about six to eight weeks each spring. Two changes matter most: switching HVAC filters more often during peak weeks, and wiping down entryway floors and door mats more frequently. For window tracks specifically, a dry brush first to lift the bulk of the pollen, then a damp cloth, skipping the dry brush just turns pollen into paste.

The rooms pollen hits hardest

Entryways take the first hit indoors and need the most frequent attention during peak season. Bedrooms with open windows see a noticeably faster buildup on nice spring days. And any room near a return vent picks up more airborne pollen than rooms farther from the system.
